The Beginning of a Tradition: Introducing the RNL Design Awards

You won’t find egocentric architectural design here. Collaboration has been one of our guiding principles since the beginning of the company. We believe that only when we work together across disciplines, perspectives and geographies can we truly start to push the envelope of great design.

To continue building our community of collaboration, inspiration and challenging each other to push boundaries, we created a friendly internal competition. And so, the RNL Design Awards were born.

Each project team had the chance to submit a project board for the following categories: Innovation, Design 2 Thrive, Collaboration and Balance. A committee, including representatives from each office location and from every studio, had the difficult task of determining the winning projects for each category. The committee was even inspired to add a “Craft” category to recognize the creative use of materials in some of the entries. The People’s Choice Award, which included all 19 entries, was selected by an all-staff survey.
